Editorial Standards
The Honest Test publishes both independent reviews and reviews produced in partnership with brands, and some articles contain affiliate links. These standards explain how we disclose those relationships and how we keep our verdicts independent, in line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements and material connections.
Disclosure of brand partnerships
When a review is sponsored or produced in partnership with a brand, we disclose that material connection clearly and conspicuously on the article itself — not buried in fine print. A partnership pays for the work of researching and producing a thorough review. It does not buy a favorable verdict, and our caveats and recommendations are written the same way whether or not a brand is involved.
Affiliate links
Some articles include affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. We disclose the presence of affiliate links on the articles that use them. Affiliate arrangements do not determine which products we cover or what we conclude — a product can carry an affiliate link and still receive a critical or qualified verdict.
Independence of our verdicts
Our editorial judgment is independent of any commercial relationship. We aim to represent products accurately, distinguish independently verified facts from owner-reported experiences, and always name the trade-offs. We do not publish a positive verdict in exchange for payment or commission.
Accuracy and corrections
We work to keep reviews accurate and up to date, and product details such as pricing and availability can change over time. If you believe something is inaccurate, contact us and we will review it and correct the record where warranted.
